TRAFFIC SAFETY & MANAGEMENT

TCET-NSS Unit undertook the project of Traffic Safety Awareness and Management with help of Rotary Club Kandivali (East) and Mumbai Traffic police at junction of Thakur Village and Thakur Complex under flyover on 3rd October 2015.

The volunteers were called in two slots of 50 each at the traffic police station under the flyover. Time slots were from 9:00am - 11:00am and from 11:15am - 1:15pm. Volunteers were briefed about traffic rules, regulations and also about safe driving by Mr.Jadhav Sir, chief traffic police officer. Various questions were asked by volunteers and were addressed by Police staff.

After briefing the volunteers were divided into groups of 6 and were allotted spots in the junction area to create awareness. Volunteers used posters to display it to the motorists waiting at the signal to create awareness about the traffic rules and regulations. They were assisted by the traffic police officers in managing the traffic. Pedestrians were also guided and encouraged to use zebra crossing. The project ended with assembling at the Traffic police station and refreshments were given to the volunteers by Rotary Club.
