About Training and Placement (T&P)

In the present scenario of globalization there is tremendous demand for skilled manpower particularly in Engineering and Technology. Therefore, Training and Placement (T&P) was set up with a view to provide necessary impetus to launch our students into the real world where cut-throat competition is the order of the day. It plays a vital role in finding suitable job opportunities for students and at same time tying up with industries and professional organizations for fruitful and mutually beneficial linkages.

Training and Placement (T&P) Cell conducts diversified industry-relevant training programmes for the enhancement of technical and non-technical skills to ensure that students meet the industry requirements. Training content and curriculum are prepared and developed from time to time by taking the expert’s inputs from industry and academia. Various training activities are conducted from the first year to the final year, and for which in-house and out-house trainers are identified. The stakeholders are also involved to carry out the training activities. Moreover, mock activities are also conducted for students so that they can get an exposure to the actual placement process and the acquaintance of industry work culture to students.

Campus placement plays a vital role in getting employed. It is the most popular method for selecting candidates from an Institute where various organizations visit the institute to recruit bright talent. This is a very good opportunity for students, who are keen on beginning their professional careers as soon as they finish studies TCET has an enviable record in the placement of students. The institute has been accredited by major companies like Accenture, Capgemini, Infosys, JP Morgan Chase, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech-Mahindra etc. At present more than 150 companies are visiting for campus recruitment every year and almost all students showing interest in placement are placed through campus.

Objectives of Training & Placement Cell

  1. To identify the industry requirements and facilitate the value-added and diversified training activities and services during the programme for meeting the academic and professional requirements and make students employable and competitive for one of best placements among engineering colleges.
  2. To place students in companies for internships/ apprenticeships and final year outhouse projects to expose students with the work culture of industries.
  3. To facilitate diversified placement such as core, IT/ ITeS, MNCs and overseas placement ensuring inclusiveness to meet the quality objective.
  4. To facilitate the services to students after joining the industry to build a strong alumni association and industry base to enhance the campus placement support to students.
  5. To develop lifelong learning through effective knowledge management and various means to take the placement activities to a higher level.

Training Activities:

Training and Placement Cell identifies the industry requirements and facilitate the value-added and diversified training activities through various programmes conducted for students. Training activities are conducted to meet the professional requirements and make them employable and competitive. The training activities are conducted from the First Year to Final Year to ensure that students become ready for industry placement. This helps in holistic development of the students making them thinkers and innovators. The students are supported to provide the required training. Following general and dynamic training activities are provided to students by Training and Placement Cell.
